Mass Fatalities Course

The Mass Fatalities Field Course has been scheduled for May 9-10 at the Terre Haute Fire/Law Enforcement training facility at 2465 N Brown Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47804. This course is a hands on approach and continuation of the Mass Fatalities planning seminar that D7 participated in 2011.

The next Taskforce 7 meeting will be held on May 2, 2012 at Maryland Community Church. Registration will begin at 0830 with a meeting start time of 0900. I would like to encourage you and members from your agencies to attend as the recent deployment of TaskForce7 will be discussed as well as a presentation on the districts communication assets.

In addition, a District Planning Council meeting will be held immediately following the morning meeting.

The March TF7 and district planning council meetings for have been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Nineteen members of TF7 have been deployed to Clark County to assist with incident management of events related to the recent tornadoes.

As soon as a date and time have been determined for the rescheduled meeting a notice will be sent out as well as posted here on the website www.taskforce7.com.

Anhydrous Ammonia Safety Training Program

Anhydrous ammonia is one of the most widely used sources of nitrogen utilized by farmers. Therefore, exposure to anhydrous ammonia can happen suddenly and without notice resulting in a catastrophe. This program is geared to both farmers & handlers and the emergency response community as they all stand a chance of dealing with an anhydrous ammonia accident in the future.

Owen County 2012 Firefighter I/II Class

The District 7 Training Council would like to announce a Firefighter I/II Class that will be held in Owen County, at the Patricksburg Vol. Fire Department located at 10058 Marion St PATRICKSBURG, IN 47455

Class will start Feburary 20th 2012 and ends July 16th 2012. Course is free to firefighters. This is a split class, with a Firefighter I test, and then the firefighter II test. Firefighters must have full PPE and SCBA available for use and adhere to OSHA repiratory protection guidelines. Registration is open at this time! You can register at
